Job Description

We are seeking a motivated and detail-oriented individual to join our team as a Library Assistant. The ideal candidate will support the daily operations of the library, assisting patrons with inquiries, maintaining the organization of library materials, and ensuring a welcoming environment for all visitors. Key Responsibilities: Assist patrons in locating and utilizing library resources, including books, periodicals, and digital media. Check materials in and out, process returns, and manage overdue items. Organize and shelve library materials according to established classification systems. Maintain the cleanliness and orderliness of the library space. Support library programs and events by preparing materials and assisting with set-up and take-down. Respond to inquiries and provide information about library services and resources. Conduct routine inventory checks and assist in the acquisition of new materials. Collaborate with team members to promote library services and enhance patron engagement. Qualifications: High school diploma or equivalent; additional education in library science or a related field is a plus. Strong organizational skills and attention to detail. Excellent interpersonal and communication skills. Proficiency in using computer systems and library management software. Ability to work independently and as part of a team. A passion for promoting literacy and lifelong learning within the community.
