Centralized Loan Officer

Arapahoe Credit Union is seeking a full-time (40-hour) Centralized Loan Officer to join our Operations team, Monday through Friday.

The Centralized Loan Officer is responsible for assisting members with their consumer lending needs and processing loan applications from initial submission through funding. The ideal candidate will be detail-oriented, member-focused, and comfortable working in a fast-paced environment while providing friendly, professional, and accurate service.  Bilingual (Spanish) is preferred but not required. Hiring immediately - $1000 sign on bonus!

This position requires on-site work during training and while developing proficiency and independence in the role. Once established, the position may become eligible for a remote or hybrid arrangement based on performance, reliability, and business needs. Remote work is not available at the start of employment.

Duties

The Centralized Loan Officer is responsible for providing a positive lending experience while ensuring consumer loan applications are processed accurately, efficiently, and in accordance with Credit Union policies and regulatory requirements. Responsibilities include:

• Receive and input consumer loan applications with a focus on completeness and accuracy.
• Work directly with members to understand their borrowing needs and gather required information and documentation.
• Collect, verify, and document information including income, employment, credit reports, and collateral details.
• Prepare and submit loan applications to underwriting for decision.
• Work closely with underwriters, loan processors, title specialists, and other team members throughout the lending process.
• Ensure loan files meet applicable regulatory requirements and internal credit policy standards.
• Maintain a professional, helpful, and member-focused approach throughout the loan process.
• Identify opportunities to recommend additional ACU products and services that may benefit the member.
• Troubleshoot and resolve member and internal lending inquiries in a timely, friendly, and accurate manner.
• Identify transactions or situations requiring BSA documentation and submit appropriate documentation for review.
• Identify and recommend opportunities to improve departmental processes and procedures.
• Support departmental and Credit Union goals and objectives.
• Perform other duties as assigned.

Qualifications

The qualified applicant must have strong interpersonal and communication skills and be committed to providing friendly, prompt, professional, and accurate service to members and coworkers.

The position requires a high school diploma or GED and one to twelve months of similar or related experience.

The successful candidate should also:

• Be accurate and detail-oriented, particularly when working with numbers, names, and financial information.
• Have strong organizational skills and the ability to manage multiple loan applications and priorities.
• Demonstrate a high level of trust, diplomacy, courtesy, and tact when working with members and sensitive financial information.
• Be comfortable communicating with members by phone, electronically, and through other available channels.
• Work effectively and collaboratively with other employees and departments.
• Maintain a dependable record of attendance and timeliness.
• Maintain a professional work environment and represent Arapahoe Credit Union professionally at all times.
